The Allen & Heath CQ-18T is a compact digital mixer built around a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen and a streamlined physical interface that includes a rotary encoder, 3 custom SoftKeys, and 3 custom SoftRotaries. It offers 16 mic or line inputs — 8 via combi XLR/TRS jacks and 8 via standard connectors — along with a dedicated stereo line input, bringing the total to 18 input channels. Four built-in FX engines handle reverb, delay, and other processing duties directly on the unit, eliminating the need for external effects racks in many applications.

Connectivity and recording capabilities set the CQ-18T apart from simpler mixers. Built-in dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) with automatic channel selection enables wireless remote control from tablets and smartphones without an external router, while stereo Bluetooth input allows wireless audio playback from mobile devices. For recording, the mixer functions as a 24x22 USB audio interface for computer-based multitrack sessions and also supports 24x22 multitrack recording and playback directly to and from an SD card.
