AlphaTheta DDJ-FLX2 — Editorial Review
The AlphaTheta DDJ-FLX2 is the company's most affordable and compact DJ controller — a 2-channel, bus-powered unit packed with beginner-friendly mixing aids that play nicely with rekordbox, Serato DJ Lite and djay.

Smart features and a built-in soundcard
Digital DJ Tips and AlphaTheta note the FLX2 adds Smart CFX and Smart Fader — features that recreate complex effect and transition techniques with a single control — and, crucially, an integrated soundcard so you can plug speakers and headphones straight in (a real upgrade over the older DDJ-200). It runs on USB-C bus power across computer or mobile, and it's AlphaTheta's lightest, most portable controller. In Crossfader's review — featured above — it's assessed as a first controller for new DJs.
Honest cons
- Two channels only. Great for learning; you'll want four channels as you advance.
- Serato bundle is DJ Lite. Full Serato DJ Pro features require a paid upgrade.
- Compact jog wheels. The small platters trade scratch feel for portability.
- Budget build. Light and plasticky, as expected at the price.
Where this controller fits
- Brand-new DJs who want assisted mixing while they learn the fundamentals.
- Mobile and laptop/phone setups needing bus power and a built-in soundcard.
- Budget-minded beginners in the rekordbox/Serato/djay ecosystems.
- Not four-deck performance, club-standard scratch feel, or pro DJ Pro features out of the box.
