Aputure F10 Barndoors Bowens Mount Light Shaping

The Aputure F10 Barndoors are a precision light-shaping attachment built for the Aputure F10 Fresnel and Bowens Mount LED fixtures. The 8-leaf design — four primary leaves plus four smaller helper flags — goes beyond the binary open/closed masking of conventional barndoors. The helper flags rotate independently, enabling cutoffs that are not constrained to the horizontal and vertical axes, which matters when you need to trim a beam diagonally, protect a background element from spill, or shape an output for an irregular set geometry. The included negative reflector dish is the other key optical component: by mounting in front of the Bowens Mount and presenting only the LED chipset as the visible emitting surface, it shrinks the effective source size and produces shadow edges with noticeably harder definition than you would get from the same barndoors without it.

These barndoors are designed for working film, television, and commercial production environments. The black powder-coated aluminum alloy construction handles the thermal load and physical contact that come with repeated set use without deforming the leaf geometry that determines cutoff accuracy. The dual mounting system — drop-in slot for the F10 Fresnel, Bowens adapter for everything else — means a single set of barndoors covers multiple fixtures in a kit. Safety cable and attachment point are included as standard, not as an afterthought, which reflects the expectation that these will be rigged on booms and overhead pipes where unsecured hardware is a liability.
