Aputure Lantern 90cm Softbox Bowens Mount LED Lights

The Aputure Lantern 90 reimagines the traditional softbox as a lantern-shaped, omnidirectional light modifier with a 90cm diameter. Where conventional softboxes direct light primarily forward, the Lantern 90's spherical design radiates soft, even illumination across a much wider angle, making it especially effective as an ambient or key light for interviews, narrative scenes, and product photography. It mounts to any Bowens-compatible fixture — including popular LEDs like the Aputure 300D II, 300X, and Amaran series — via a secure speed ring connection, and the spring-loaded cage structure snaps into shape in roughly 60 seconds without the frustration of threading individual rods through fabric channels.

Light control comes from the included hook-and-loop fabric skirt, which wraps around the lower portion of the lantern and can be adjusted to three positions: fully open for maximum spread, half-closed for moderate directional control, or quarter-open for the tightest beam the modifier offers. The 1-stop diffusion cover softens the output while preserving enough intensity for practical working distances. When the shoot wraps, the entire assembly collapses into a tube measuring 18 × 18 × 150cm and slides into the included carrying bag. At just 2.59 kg, it adds minimal weight to a lighting kit while delivering the kind of large, soft source that typically requires much heavier and more complex modifiers.
