Frequently Asked Questions
Will this softbox fit lights other than the Aputure LS 60d and LS 60x?
No. The speed ring adapter uses a dedicated LS 60 Mini Mount with a 106mm diameter that is specific to the Aputure LS 60 series. It will not attach to other Aputure lights or third-party fixtures without an adapter, and no official adapter currently exists.
What is the practical difference between the 1.5-stop and 2.5-stop diffusion panels?
The 1.5-stop diffusion reduces output by about one-third and produces moderately soft light with slightly more directionality. The 2.5-stop panel cuts roughly 80% of light output but delivers noticeably softer, more wrapped light. Swap between them based on whether you need more output or more softness for a given scene.
How does the 45-degree grid affect the light output?
The grid narrows the beam spread to 45 degrees, preventing spill onto backgrounds and adjacent surfaces. This gives you more control over where the light falls, which is particularly useful in small spaces or when you need to keep light off a background for separation. It does reduce overall output slightly due to the grid material.
How quickly can this softbox be set up and broken down on location?
The softbox uses a collapsible design that folds flat to 400x200x50mm. Most users report full setup — unfolding, attaching to the LS 60, and adding diffusion — in under two minutes. Breakdown is similarly fast, and the included carrying bag keeps all components together for transport.
