Explore the Legendary Sounds of a Modular Synthesizer
Step into the world of analog synthesis with the Arturia Moog Modular V 2.0, a faithful software recreation of the iconic Moog Modular synthesizer. Offering endless possibilities for sonic exploration, this virtual instrument lets you create sounds that were never heard before, with its vast array of oscillators, filters, envelopes, and more.
Specifications:
- Oscillators: 9
- Filter Slots: 3
- LFOs: 2
- Envelopes: 6
- Sequencer: 3x8 Step-Sequencer
- Additional Modules: 928 Sample and Hold, 912 Envelope Follower, 12 Stage Phaser, Formant Filter
- Interchangeable Modules: Allows customization of the Modular configuration
Key Features
928 Sample and hold is also very rare. Originally assembled in a separate cabinet, it was adapted on the last modular series
912 Envelope follower (or Schmit Trigger). One of the most popular modules on the Moog systems
12 stage phaser. The Moog 12 Stage Phaser was very well known, and originally conceived as an external rack to the Modular systems.
Formant Filter. A new module developed by Arturia, which did not exist on the original Moog systems.
Some of the modules are now interchangeable, allowing to configure - to a certain extent - the Modular the desired way.

Pros & Cons
👍 Pros
- Includes the unique 928 Sample and Hold module, a rare feature adapted from later modular series for enhanced sound design.
- Features the highly popular 912 Envelope Follower (Schmitt Trigger) module, offering dynamic sound shaping capabilities.
- Incorporates a well-known 12-stage phaser, originally conceived as an external rack unit, providing extensive modulation options.
- Comes with a new Formant Filter module, an Arturia innovation not found in original Moog systems, expanding sonic possibilities.
- Offers interchangeable modules, allowing users a certain degree of configuration to customize their virtual synthesizer setup.
👎 Cons
- The software is a virtual synthesizer, meaning it requires a computer and compatible audio interface, unlike a physical hardware unit.
- Specific system requirements for running the Arturia Moog Modular V 2.0 (e.g., OS version, CPU, RAM) are not provided, which could impact user compatibility.
- The 928 Sample and Hold module, while rare, may be complex for new users to fully utilize without prior modular synthesis knowledge.
- While new modules are developed by Arturia, advanced users might find the emulation less tactile or immediate compared to a hardware modular system.
- The description does not specify the number of available voices or polyphony, which is crucial for modern music production.
