Control is handled entirely through the free X AIR app for iPad and Android, connecting via the mixer's built-in Wi-Fi module. This wireless approach lets sound engineers walk the room during soundcheck, adjust monitor mixes from the stage, or manage front-of-house sound from the audience — all without running a single cable to a mixing position.

Beyond mixing, the XR18 functions as a full-featured 18x18 channel USB audio interface, enabling zero-latency multitrack recording directly to your DAW. Four true-stereo multi-effects processors come loaded with emulations of revered studio hardware, including the LA-2A optical compressor and Pultec EQP-1a equalizer, giving you professional-quality effects processing without additional outboard gear. Every channel and bus includes a 4-band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, and gate, along with a 31-band graphic EQ, while a 100-band real-time analyzer on every input channel helps you make informed EQ decisions visually. MIDI In/Out connectivity adds the option for external hardware control during live performances.
