DMXNET 8-Port DMX RDM Splitter and Isolator

The DMXNET 8-port DMX RDM splitter targets the practical problem of sending one control signal to many fixtures cleanly. It combines splitting, amplification, and isolation in a single 1U box, with isolation rated up to 1500V to guard against the ground loops and voltage differences that plague larger rigs. RDM support follows the ANSI E1.20 standard, so compatible fixtures can be addressed and monitored downstream. The unit even reports on itself: onboard device management can read its temperature sensor, adjust LED indicator brightness, and rename its label, giving technicians a small window into the hardware's status.

What sets it apart is the dual-input design and the ease of reconfiguring it. A single toggle chooses between DUAL 1x4 mode, where two inputs each feed four outputs, and BACKUP 2x8 mode, where a second input stands by as failover across all eight ports. That redundancy matters on shows where a dropped signal is not an option. Two USB ports can run a work light, and a USB Type-C port connects to a computer for firmware updates, keeping the unit current over time.

Ownership details are sensibly handled. The chassis mounts in a standard 19-inch rack, and reversible rack ears let it face either direction depending on the enclosure. An M10 mounting hole opens up truss installation for touring setups, and at about 0.9kg the splitter is light enough to move and rig repeatedly without adding meaningful weight to a case.
