Pros & Cons
👍 Pros
- AcousticPro UHD material supports center-channel speaker placement behind the screen with only -2.36dB mean attenuation — a credible acoustic transparent option for dedicated theater builds.
- Plenum-rated and NFPA 701 flame retardant certified, satisfying commercial installation code requirements without requiring additional fire-rated enclosures.
- 5–12V trigger input enables clean integration with AV control systems and receivers, allowing the screen to deploy automatically with projector power-on.
- Full installation kit included — IR/RF remotes, 3-way wall switch, and trigger wiring — reducing jobsite procurement overhead.
- GreenGuard Gold certification supports installation in schools, healthcare facilities, and occupied commercial spaces.
👎 Cons
- Designed for Standard Throw projectors only — ultra-short-throw installations require a different screen product entirely.
- At 140" diagonal housing with a 166" wide viewing surface, rough-in ceiling preparation must be precise; retrofitting into an existing ceiling is a significant carpentry and structural job.
- 1.0 gain is neutral and correct for light-controlled rooms; any ambient light in the viewing environment will visibly wash out the image — this is not an ALR (ambient light rejecting) material.
- The 6-inch black masking drop must be accounted for in ceiling height calculations; installations in rooms with lower ceilings may find the image position unfavorable.
- Motor and housing service access requires ceiling access, making post-installation maintenance more involved than wall-mounted alternatives.
