Frequently Asked Questions
What does IP33 certification actually mean for outdoor use — can this screen handle rain?
IP33 means the enclosure is protected against solid objects larger than 2.5mm and water sprayed at angles up to 60 degrees from vertical. It will handle light rain and splashing, but it is not designed for submersion or heavy horizontal rain driven by wind. For permanent outdoor installations, a weather-rated housing or recessed enclosure is recommended when not in use.
Will the CineWhite 1.1 gain material work with a short-throw projector positioned on a patio table close to the screen?
Yes. CineWhite is listed as compatible with ultra-short, short, and standard throw projectors. The 1.1 gain is neutral — it reflects light uniformly across a 180° viewing angle rather than focusing gain toward a narrow sweet spot, which means image quality holds up even with non-ideal throw angles common in outdoor setups.
How is this screen mounted — does it need a dedicated post or wall?
The OMS125WHT-ELECTRIC supports two mounting methods: flush wall or ceiling mounting via included floating brackets, or freestanding suspension via included floating eyebolts. No dedicated post is included. For fully freestanding use without a wall or ceiling attachment point, a separate stand system would be required.
How is the screen controlled, and can it be triggered by a projector's 12V trigger output?
The screen ships with an RF remote for wireless control. It also includes a 5-12V trigger input, which allows compatible projectors or AV receivers to automatically raise or lower the screen when the source device powers on or off — eliminating the need to manually operate the remote during every screening.
Is the 125" diagonal measurement the viewable image area, or does it include the frame?
The 125" diagonal is the viewable image area. The overall physical dimensions of the unit are larger: 80.3" H x 124" W x 4.1" D for the enclosure and frame. Plan your mounting space around the overall dimensions, not the diagonal screen size.
