Fujifilm LW Prescale Low Pressure Mapping Film

The Fujifilm Prescale LW (Low Pressure) film is a specialized pressure-indicating film engineered to reveal the exact magnitude and distribution of surface pressure between any two contacting, mating, or impacting surfaces. Operating within a pressure range of 350 to 1,400 PSI (25 to 100 kg/cm²), this film uses microencapsulated color-forming technology that responds instantaneously—in less than a millisecond—to applied force. The resulting color map ranges from faint pink at the low end of the scale to a deep crimson at peak pressures, giving engineers and technicians a clear, intuitive visual representation of how force is distributed across a contact interface.

Supplied on a roll measuring 1 foot by 10.6 inches, the film is exceptionally thin and flexible, allowing it to be cut with scissors or a laser to fit virtually any application surface. Common uses include verifying gasket sealing, checking mold and die alignment, evaluating lamination roller pressure, and validating mechanical assembly interfaces. Because the color change is permanent, the resulting pressure map can be removed from the test area and analyzed at a workstation, compared against reference charts, or digitized using Fujifilm's optional analysis software for precise PSI readings.
