Key Features
22 glass elements in 17 groups, with two Super ED Lens elements and two ED Lens elements.
T2.9 aperture across the entire zoom range which facilitates the increasingly popular style of bokeh effect with shallow depth-of-field.
The focus ring features a rotation of a full 200 degrees to facilitate precise focusing. All operation Rings have a gear pitch of 0.8M, the same as all other Fujinon Cine lenses.
The front focusing group of lens elements and the zooming group of lens elements are driven independently to suppress focus shift while zooming, which eliminates the need to re-focus after zooming.

Pros & Cons
👍 Pros
- The Fujifilm MKX50-135mmT2.9 lens maintains a constant T2.9 aperture across the entire zoom range, ideal for consistent low-light performance.
- It features 22 glass elements in 17 groups, including two Super ED and two ED lens elements, to minimize aberrations.
- The focus ring offers a full 200 degrees of rotation, allowing for precise and subtle focus adjustments during filming.
- All operation rings share a gear pitch of 0.8M, ensuring compatibility with standard follow focus and cine accessories.
- This lens suppresses focus shift while zooming, eliminating the need for re-focusing after adjusting focal length.
👎 Cons
- The 85mm front diameter and 82mm filter thread mean existing filters or matte boxes may need to be compatible or require new purchases.
- While offering excellent optical quality, its specialized cine design might make it heavier or bulkier than typical still photography lenses.
- The T2.9 aperture, though constant, is not as fast as some prime lenses, which could be a consideration for extremely dark environments.
- The 200-degree focus rotation, while precise, can be slower for quick focus pulls compared to lenses with shorter throws.
- This lens is specifically for the Fujinon X Mount, limiting its direct use to Fujifilm X-series cameras without adapters.
