Furman PS-REL Power Relay Accessory AC Detector

The Furman PS-REL Power Relay is a purpose-built accessory designed to extend the automation capabilities of Furman power sequencing systems. When connected to a switched outlet on a compatible Furman unit such as the PS-8R, PS-PRO, Miniport, or Power Port, the PS-REL senses the presence of 120 VAC and responds by closing a single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) relay. This contact closure can then be used to trigger additional equipment, activate a second power sequencer, or control any device that responds to a dry-contact signal.

Because the PS-REL operates on a simple detect-and-close principle, it integrates cleanly into both professional audio racks and home entertainment systems. AV integrators commonly use it to chain multiple sequencers together or to automate the power-up of equipment that sits outside the reach of a single Furman unit's switched outlets. The relay's SPDT configuration provides wiring flexibility, supporting both normally open and normally closed circuits depending on the needs of the installation.
