Furman RS-1 Remote Power Sequencer Control

The Furman RS-1 Remote System Control is a keyswitch panel designed to give you remote on/off sequencing control over compatible Furman power distribution units. In professional AV installations, conference rooms, houses of worship, and performance venues, equipment racks are often located in closets, backstage areas, or other locations that are inconvenient to access every time the system needs to be powered up or shut down. The RS-1 solves this by letting you mount a small, key-operated switch panel at a doorway, podium, or control desk—wherever it is most practical for the operator.

The keyswitch uses a maintained-contact design, meaning you turn the key and leave it in position rather than holding it. This sends a control signal to your Furman power sequencer, which then powers your connected equipment on or off in the proper sequence to protect sensitive gear from inrush current and power surges. The key-operated mechanism also adds a layer of security, preventing unauthorized personnel from accidentally or intentionally cycling the system. The RS-1 is compatible with a broad range of Furman products including the ASD-120, Power Link series, Power Port series, MiniPort Power Relay series, PS-8R, PS-8R II, and PS-PRO II.
