Operating on 120VAC with a 12-amp load rating, the receiver plugs directly into any standard grounded outlet, and the controlled device plugs into the receiver. The included Decora-style wall switch mounts anywhere without wiring, using an adhesive or screw bracket. Wireless range extends up to 100 feet, making it practical for fixtures in awkward locations: high ceilings, utility areas, garages, or holiday display setups where running a dedicated switch would require significant electrical work.

The system supports CFL, LED, and incandescent bulb types, covering the full range of common residential lighting.
