Frequently Asked Questions
What filters are included in this kit?
The kit includes a Hoya 67mm NXT Plus Circular Polarizer and a Hoya 67mm NXT Plus UV HMC multi-coated filter.
Are the filters multi-coated?
The UV filter features Hoya's HMC (Hard Multi-Coating) to reduce reflections and ghosting. The circular polarizer in the NXT Plus line also uses multi-layer coatings for improved light transmission and flare resistance.
What accessories come with the filters?
Beyond the two filters, the kit includes a 67mm pro tulip-style hard lens hood, an Op/Tech USA neoprene filter pouch that fits filters up to 77mm, a Lenspen FilterKlear cleaning pen, and a Precision Design Spudz microfiber cleaning cloth.
Will the tulip lens hood cause vignetting on wide-angle lenses?
The petal (tulip) design is shaped to minimize vignetting on standard and moderate wide-angle lenses, but extreme wide-angle focal lengths below roughly 28mm equivalent may still show corner shading.
Can I stack the UV filter and polarizer together on my lens?
You can, but stacking two filters increases the profile height, which may cause vignetting at wider focal lengths. For everyday use, most photographers keep the UV filter on for protection and swap in the polarizer when needed.
