The IK Multimedia iRig Pre is a compact microphone preamp that bridges the gap between professional XLR microphones and mobile recording devices. It accepts any standard XLR microphone — dynamic, condenser, or ribbon — and routes the signal through a 15.75-inch cable to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch via the 3.5mm headset jack. An adjustable gain knob lets you dial in the right input level for your specific microphone, and a built-in +48V phantom power switch enables the use of studio condenser microphones that require external power.

Designed for portability, the iRig Pre runs on a single 9V battery and delivers up to 30 hours of use with phantom power off or approximately 10 hours with it engaged.
