Latin Percussion LP247B 14-Inch Timbale Head - Plastic

The Latin Percussion LP247B is a 14-inch plastic timbale head designed as a direct replacement for worn or damaged heads on standard 14-inch timbale drums. Latin Percussion is one of the most recognized names in Latin percussion instruments, and the LP247B reflects the brand's focus on delivering functional, reliable components for working musicians. The plastic construction ensures the head maintains a consistent pitch and response across varying environmental conditions — a significant advantage over natural skin heads in live performance settings.

At 14 inches, this head fits the larger of the two drums in a standard timbale pair, where it delivers the lower-pitched tones used for shell patterns, rim shots, and cascara rhythms. The plastic material produces a bright, cutting attack that projects well in ensemble settings, making it well suited for salsa, Latin jazz, and other percussion-driven genres. As a replacement consumable, it is a practical item for any timbale player to keep on hand.
