The Latin Percussion LP485 Hi-Hat Shekere reimagines the traditional West African shekere as a hi-hat-mountable percussion instrument, giving drummers foot-controlled access to its distinctive rattling bead sound. Built from a durable fiberglass shell in a flattened-sphere shape, the LP485 eliminates the fragile gourd throat of a traditional shekere in favor of a form factor optimized for the vertical open-and-close motion of a hi-hat stand. When the pedal is pressed, the beaded netting shifts across the shell, producing the characteristic shekere wash. The fiberglass body ensures consistent tone and durability, session after session.
