Overview

The Leica SL2 is a full-frame mirrorless camera built around a 47.3-megapixel CMOS sensor and powered by the Maestro III image processor. It delivers outstanding still image quality with rich detail and wide dynamic range, while also offering serious video capabilities including 5K recording at 30 fps and DCI 4K at 60 fps with 10-bit color. The 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization system works with every mounted lens to keep handheld shooting sharp, and the Leica Object Detection autofocus system provides 225 selectable focus areas for precise subject tracking.

Bundled with the Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm f/2.8-4 ASPH lens, this kit covers a versatile focal range suitable for landscapes, portraits, street photography, and documentary work. The lens features 18 elements in 15 groups with 4 aspherical elements, delivering the optical precision Leica is known for. Built on the L Mount, the SL2 is compatible with a growing ecosystem of lenses from Leica, Sigma, and Panasonic, making it a flexible hub for a professional imaging system that spans both stills and motion.

Key Features

Used in conjunction with other members of the L-Mount Alliance, the L lens mount is a versatile interface with a mount diameter of 51.6mm and a flange distance of 20mm for working with a broad range of optics.

An impressive EyeRes EVF is a high-resolution 5.76m-dot OLED finder offering a clear 0.78x configurable viewing magnification along with a smooth 120 fps refresh rate, 0.005 sec lag, and 10,000:1 contrast ratio.

Large 3.2" 2.1m-dot touchscreen LCD is a bright, clear means for live view shooting as well as playback and menu navigation. This screen also uses Gorilla Glass for a highly durable design.

Wide-angle to portrait-length 24-90mm L mount zoom is designed for use on full-frame mirrorless cameras, and can also be used on APS-C-sized models where it will provide a 36-135mm equivalent focal length range.

The f/2.8-4 maximum aperture is ideal for working in difficult lighting conditions and also offers increased control over focus position for selective focus applications.
