55mm lens is a AF STM(stepping motor) auto focus lens, helps to reduce camera shake and helps capture images with less noise
Uncompromising Optical Design: The use of 8 elements in 11 groups, 1 extra-low dispersion elements,2 high refractive index element, and multi coating suppress chromatic aberration, flaring and ghosting effectively.
If you experience autofocus failure, you can upgrade the firmware online. Meike lenses use a Type-C interface, and the latest firmware is available for download from the Meike official website(Real-time updates), only supported on Android devices, not Apple (Mac)

Pros & Cons
👍 Pros
- F1.4 maximum aperture on APS-C produces strong subject separation and smooth background blur well-suited to portrait, product, and event work.
- STM stepping motor delivers quiet autofocus operation — important for video work where noisy AF mechanisms appear in audio recordings.
- 11-element optical construction with ED and high-refractive-index glass delivers controlled chromatic aberration and reduced flaring at wide apertures.
- 52mm filter thread is a common size, making UV, ND, and polarizing filters easy and inexpensive to source.
- Type-C firmware update support means autofocus behavior can be improved over time as Meike refines its software.
👎 Cons
- Firmware update process is Android-only — Fujifilm shooters who use Mac or iOS exclusively cannot perform firmware updates without access to an Android device.
- STM autofocus may hunt in low-contrast or low-light scenarios, which is a real limitation for event and available-light portrait work.
- As a third-party lens, it will not have the same depth of Fujifilm body integration (eye-detection AF coordination, full EXIF communication) as native Fujinon glass.
- At 55mm F1.4 on APS-C (~84mm equivalent), depth of field is very shallow wide open — precise focus placement on a moving subject requires care and may result in higher miss rates without face/eye tracking support from the body.
