Excel Scientific 100-THER-PLT ThermalSeal PCR Sealing Film

The Excel Scientific ThermalSeal (100-THER-PLT) is a polypropylene-based sealing film specifically engineered for PCR thermal cycling applications. Constructed from 50 µm heat-resistant polypropylene with a 25 µm acrylic adhesive backing, it provides a consistent, secure seal over PCR plate wells, protecting samples from evaporation and cross-contamination during repeated heating and cooling cycles. Unlike aluminum foil seals, the ThermalSeal film lies flat and does not roll back during application, allowing for quicker, more reliable sealing with fewer wasted sheets.

Each sheet measures 79.4 x 135.1 mm and features perforated end tabs that can be removed to fit standard plate dimensions (123.1 mm between perforations). The film is non-pierceable, meaning it is designed to remain intact throughout the thermal cycling process — labs that require piercing access should select a different product. Supplied in packs of 100, the ThermalSeal film is a practical consumable for laboratories running regular PCR workflows where consistent sealing performance and ease of use are priorities.
