What does the Chestnut Contempo color actually look like in person?
It's a light brown with visible chestnut graining and natural-looking knots — warmer and more varied than a flat brown. It reads as a mid-tone hardwood and pairs well with both light and dark cabinetry.
Can I install this over radiant floor heating?
MSI specifies indoor, temperature-controlled environments only. Glue-down LVT can generally work over radiant heat systems as long as the surface temperature stays within the adhesive manufacturer's limits — check both the adhesive specs and MSI's installation guidelines before committing.
How does this compare to click-lock luxury vinyl planks?
Glue-down creates a more permanent, stable bond with no movement or clicking underfoot, which is an advantage in large open areas. The trade-off is more labor-intensive installation and harder removal if you ever want to change flooring. Click-lock is faster to install and easier to replace.
Is the 2mm thickness going to show subfloor imperfections?
At 2mm, subfloor prep matters more than with thicker products. Bumps, ridges, or divots in the subfloor can telegraph through the plank surface. Spend the time leveling and smoothing before you start laying planks — it makes a significant difference in the finished result.
What's the realistic coverage if I account for waste and cuts?
Each pallet covers 2,520 sq ft (70 cases). Standard waste factor for LVT is 5–10% depending on room layout and how many cuts you're making around obstacles. For a 2,000 sq ft install, plan on needing at least 2,100–2,200 sq ft of material.
