DURABLE

5MM thick-12MIL wear layer, Strong at the core, stylish at the surface with rigid core performance.

Pros & Cons

👍 Pros

  • The 4-sided interlock system snaps flat and tight — no lippage issues when transitioning between rooms.
  • At 5MM with a rigid core, it doesn't flex or creak underfoot the way thinner LVP tends to over subfloor imperfections.
  • The 12MIL wear layer is commercial-grade for residential use — holds up under rolling chairs, pet claws, and heavy foot traffic.
  • IXPE underlayment is already attached, so there's no separate underlayment purchase or positioning step during install.
  • Works at any grade — above, on, or below — so you can run the same floor from the main level down through the basement without switching products.

👎 Cons

  • The sample plank size (approximately 9"x9") is small enough that it can be hard to visualize a large open-plan room without ordering a few samples.
  • As an indoor-only, temperature-controlled product, it can't be used in garages, sunrooms, or spaces that fluctuate significantly with outdoor temperatures.
  • Rigid core LVP requires a reasonably flat subfloor — significant dips or humps over 3/16" in 10 feet will telegraph through and need to be addressed before install.
  • The Barnwell Brown colorway has limited room for color-matching variation — it's a single finish, so grout lines or transitions to adjacent flooring need to be planned carefully.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — that's exactly what it's for. The 9"x9" sample lets you lay it against your walls, trim, and existing fixtures in natural and artificial light before committing to a full order.
Yes. The sample is cut from production material — 5MM thick with a 12MIL wear layer — so what you're feeling and testing is identical to what you'd install.
Yes. The rigid core construction handles installation over tile, hardwood, concrete, and existing vinyl as long as the surface is reasonably flat and structurally sound.
The 100% waterproof construction and IXPE underlayment make it suitable for below-grade installs like basements, but the environment still needs to be temperature-controlled — it's not rated for unheated or outdoor spaces.
It's a warm mid-brown with a wood-grain texture that reads as a classic barnwood finish. The sample is the best way to confirm it works against your specific cabinets or trim.
