What exactly does this sample include — is it a full-size plank?
No. This is a 7" x 7" cut sample, not a full plank. It's sized specifically to let you evaluate the Brunette Sol color, grain texture, and surface sheen under your actual lighting conditions before placing a full pallet order.
Does the sample have the same wear layer and construction as the full planks?
Yes. The sample is cut from the same 5MM rigid core planks with a 12MIL wear layer and pre-attached IXPE underlayment that make up the full product, so what you're feeling and seeing is an accurate representation of the finished floor.
Can I test the click-lock mechanism with this sample?
The 7" x 7" sample size means you won't be able to perform a full click-lock test — it's too small to interlock with another plank in a meaningful way. Its purpose is color and texture evaluation, not installation testing.
Is Brunette Sol a warm or cool brown, and does it photograph accurately online?
Brunette Sol reads as a medium-warm brown with visible wood grain. Like all printed vinyl, the color appearance varies significantly under different lighting — this is exactly why MSI recommends ordering the sample before buying the full floor. Product photos are a guide, not a guarantee.
Will the full planks look the same as the sample, or is there variation between pieces?
