The Nady Satellite SMGT-100R is a UHF wireless instrument system that pairs a miniature plug-in transmitter with a stompbox-format receiver. The transmitter plugs directly into an instrument's output jack via a right-angled 1/4-inch connector, eliminating the cable between instrument and bodypack that most wireless systems require. This design is tailored for guitars and basses with surface-mounted jacks, commonly found on Les Paul, SG, and similar designs. The transmitter includes a dedicated MUTE switch that silences audio output without dropping the wireless connection, allowing performers to plug in or swap instruments quietly during a live show.

The receiver is built into a rugged enclosure roughly the size of a standard effects pedal, making it the first wireless receiver designed to sit directly on a pedalboard. It features true diversity reception with dual antennas to maintain a stable signal as the performer moves around the stage, and offers 100 user-selectable UHF channels to avoid interference from other wireless equipment in the venue. The bright front-panel display shows the active frequency, group and channel numbers, audio level metering, RF signal strength, and battery status at a glance. Power flexibility is a key practical advantage: the receiver runs from the included AC adapter for permanent installations or from two AA batteries when a fully portable, cable-free setup is preferred. A gold-plated 1/4-inch output connects to the next pedal or amplifier in the signal chain. With a rated range of up to 300 feet in unobstructed conditions, the system suits club stages, houses of worship, and rehearsal spaces where freedom of movement matters but extreme long-range coverage is not required.
