The Neewer NW Series S 82mm Soft GND8 Filter is a screw-on graduated neutral density filter designed to help landscape photographers manage high-contrast scenes. With 3 stops of light reduction across its darkened half, the filter progressively dims bright skies while leaving the foreground unaffected, allowing your camera to capture detail in both regions within a single exposure. The soft graduation means the transition from dark to clear is smooth and gradual, which is particularly useful when shooting scenes with irregular horizons such as mountain ridges, cityscapes, or forests where a hard-edge transition would create an obvious and unnatural line.

Constructed with HD optical glass and 30 layers of nano coating applied to both surfaces, the filter aims to maintain image sharpness while minimizing common filter artifacts like lens flare and ghosting, with reflectivity rated below 1.5%. The coatings also provide practical benefits for outdoor shooting: water beads off the surface, oil smudges are easier to clean, and the glass resists minor scratches from field handling.
