Novation Launch Control XL - Ableton Live MIDI Controller

The Novation Launch Control XL is a USB MIDI controller purpose-built to give music producers and live performers direct, tactile access to their DAW's mixing and effects parameters. Its control surface packs 24 rotary knobs — each with a smooth 300-degree range of motion — alongside eight 60mm faders and 16 multicolored buttons into a compact desktop footprint. When paired with Ableton Live, the layout maps directly to the mixer, providing instant hands-on control over levels, sends, panning, and device parameters without reaching for a mouse. The multicolored LEDs on the pads provide visual feedback on track status and selection.

Beyond Ableton, the Launch Control XL functions as a versatile MIDI controller compatible with Logic, Cubase, ProTools, and standalone hardware. Users can create custom control layouts, assigning any MIDI CC to any knob, fader, or button, and even set custom colors on the pots to visually organize their workflow. The controller ships with Ableton Live Lite and the FAST Balancer AI-powered EQ plugin, giving newcomers a complete production starting point. Its USB bus-powered design means a single cable handles both data and power, keeping your setup clean and portable.
