Built for studio and on-location professionals, the D2 series is engineered around speed: flash durations drop as low as 1/63,000 s in Speed mode, recycle times are among the shortest in the monolight category, and continuous shooting at up to 20 frames per second is possible at reduced power. The integrated AirTTL system adds through-the-lens metering when used with a Profoto Air Remote, letting photographers switch between full manual control and automated exposure on the fly—an especially valuable feature during high-volume portrait sessions or editorial work where lighting setups change frequently.

Each D2 head features a built-in Air receiver for wireless triggering and remote power adjustment at distances up to 300 meters, eliminating the need for sync cables or bolt-on radio modules.
