The Rokinon RK20M-C 20mm f/1.8 AS ED UMC is a fast, wide-angle manual-focus prime designed for Canon EF-mount DSLRs. Its optical formula — 13 elements in 12 groups — incorporates aspherical (AS) and extra-low dispersion (ED) glass to control aberrations and maintain sharpness from the center to the edges of the frame. The Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) applied to the glass surfaces suppresses flare and ghosting, a practical advantage when shooting landscapes with the sun in or near the frame or capturing star fields at night.

With a maximum aperture of f/1.8, this lens gathers significantly more light than typical wide-angle zooms, making it well suited for astrophotography, twilight cityscapes, and interior architecture work where a tripod may not be available. The minimum focusing distance of just 0.66 feet opens up close-up possibilities uncommon at this focal length. Because it is a fully manual lens — focus and aperture are set on the barrel — it rewards deliberate, tripod-based workflows rather than rapid autofocus shooting.
