The Roland EC-10M ELCajon Mic Processor is designed for acoustic cajon players who want to amplify their instrument and layer electronic percussion sounds on top of their natural playing. The unit comes with a clip-on condenser microphone that attaches directly to the cajon's sound hole, providing a quick and non-invasive setup. At its simplest, the EC-10M serves as a quality mic preamp, picking up the acoustic character of your cajon and sending it to a PA system. But the real appeal lies in its ability to overlay additional tones — tambourine, shaker, djembe, electronic drums, and more — triggered by your natural slaps on the edge or head of the cajon.

The EC-10M includes a built-in looping function that lets you record and layer rhythm phrases using the onboard sounds, which is useful for solo performers building up grooves on the fly. For expanded control, you can connect up to two Roland kick-trigger pedals (KT-10, KT-9, or KD-7) to play additional sounds with your feet, and integrated A/B foot pads on the unit itself can trigger tones as well. Output flexibility is solid: route the mic and layered sounds through two independent 1/4-inch outputs for separate PA mixing, or combine them into one mono output for simpler setups.
