The Roland JU-06A is part of Roland's Boutique series, a line of compact sound modules that faithfully recreate iconic vintage synthesizers using Roland's ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) technology. The JU-06A combines two legendary instruments — the JUNO-60 and JUNO-106 — into a single module, allowing players to switch between both sound engines at will. Each mode offers 64 user-programmable patches organized into 8 banks of 8, for a total of 128 sound slots. The familiar chorus effect, oscillator controls, and filter characteristics of both originals are present and tunable via the front-panel knobs and sliders.

Beyond its sound engine, the JU-06A includes a 16-pattern step sequencer, 16-slot chord memory, and a ribbon-style controller strip, making it capable of standalone performance without additional gear. It connects to computers and other equipment via Micro USB B for both MIDI and audio, and supports standard MIDI for hardware integration. Powered by Ni-MH batteries for up to 6 hours of untethered use, it weighs just 2 pounds and fits easily into a backpack. The built-in speaker provides convenient monitoring for practice or sound design sessions, while the standard audio output delivers the full, rich character of the JUNO sound through external speakers or headphones.
