Its compact metal housing sits on the floor next to your kit, running on battery power so there are no extra cables cluttering your stage or practice space. Two trigger inputs accept Roland RT-series acoustic drum triggers or Roland trigger pads, allowing you to layer electronic sounds — kicks, snares, effects, or custom samples — directly on top of your acoustic playing. Fifteen ready-to-play onboard kits cover a range of styles from rock and metal to electronic music, providing immediate usability out of the box.

Where the TM-1 truly expands is through its free editor app, available on Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android. The app unlocks access to over 150 additional sounds and lets you import your own WAV samples for fully personalized triggering. Two built-in footswitches give you hands-free control over sound triggering, kit changes, and module muting — essential for live performance where your hands are occupied. When connected to a computer via USB, the TM-1 also functions as a trigger-to-MIDI converter, making it a useful tool for recording and production workflows. At 550 grams with dimensions of approximately 17.5 x 17.4 x 18.9 inches including its floor-based enclosure, it is unobtrusive enough to integrate into any kit without rearranging your setup.
