At its core are four Q72 dynamic instrument microphones designed for close-miking snare and toms, delivering focused pickup of each drum's attack and tone. The Q71 kick drum microphone is built to handle the high SPL and low-frequency energy inside a bass drum, while two C02 pencil condenser microphones serve as overheads to capture cymbals, room ambience, and the overall kit balance. All seven microphones use a unidirectional (cardioid) polar pattern to reject off-axis bleed from neighboring drums and stage noise.
