The Shure Stem Ceiling Microphone Array represents a significant step forward in conference room audio, replacing traditional tabletop microphones with a ceiling-mounted unit powered by 100 integrated microphones. This dense microphone array enables sophisticated beamforming technology that can create wide, medium, or narrow pickup patterns, ensuring every participant in the room is captured clearly regardless of where they sit. The audio fencing feature adds another layer of intelligence by defining a virtual boundary that rejects sounds originating outside the designated meeting area, effectively eliminating hallway noise, HVAC rumble, and other common distractions.

All audio processing happens onboard, with built-in DSP handling acoustic echo cancellation, automatic gain control, noise cancellation, and de-reverberation—removing the need for separate processing hardware and simplifying the signal chain. Installation is flexible, with both a low-profile flush mount for rooms where the technology should be invisible and a chandelier suspension option for spaces where visibility is acceptable. The included kit provides everything needed for either approach: the microphone unit, chandelier suspension hardware, square ceiling mount, a 15-foot Cat 6 Ethernet cable, a 12-foot USB-A cable, and a gripple kit. As part of the Stem Ecosystem, the Ceiling unit can be combined with other Stem devices to cover rooms of virtually any size, from intimate huddle spaces to boardrooms seating 20 or more participants.
