Sony a7R II (ILCE7RM2/B) Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera (Renewed)

The Sony a7R II (ILCE7RM2/B) was a landmark full-frame mirrorless camera when it launched, and its core imaging capabilities remain impressive. At its heart is a 42.4-megapixel back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor—the first of its kind in a full-frame camera—paired with the BIONZ X image processor. This combination delivers outstanding resolution for landscape, portrait, and studio work, while the back-illuminated sensor design improves light-gathering efficiency for cleaner results at higher ISO settings up to 102,400. The 5-axis in-body image stabilization system is tuned specifically for the high-resolution sensor, helping to ensure that handheld shots remain sharp even at slower shutter speeds.

Autofocus performance is driven by a Fast Hybrid AF system featuring 399 phase-detection points spread across the sensor, providing responsive and accurate focusing for both still photography and video. The a7R II records 4K video using full pixel readout without pixel binning, producing clean, detailed footage that avoids the moiré and softness issues common in cameras that downsample from fewer points. The 2.4-million-dot XGA OLED Tru-Finder with ZEISS T* coating provides a bright, high-contrast viewfinder image, and built-in Wi-Fi and NFC simplify transferring images to a smartphone. This renewed unit offers access to all of these professional-grade features at a reduced price, making it a practical option for photographers seeking high-resolution full-frame performance on a budget, with the understanding that the body may show minor cosmetic signs of prior use.
