Key Features
Introducing the pinnacle of ultra-telephoto zoom with advanced features for improved optical performance, functionality and usability - The SP 150-600mm G2 (Generation 2) | Tamron SP series lenses have been technologically redefined from the inside out to maximize the potential of high-resolution cameras.
Featuring better overall optical performance and faster AF speed, VC enhancements, plus Fluorine Coating, FLEX ZOOM LOCK and teleconverter compatibility. | MOD reduced to 7' (1:3.9 max. mag. Ratio) to provide optimum tele-macro photography | VC performance is 4.5 stops (VC mode 3) and offers three modes optimized for different shooting situations | New FLEX ZOOM LOCK mechanism enables the locking of the zoom ring at any position | Fluorine Coating and improved Moisture-Resistant Construction
VC image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to 4.5 stops for more effective handheld shooting in difficult lighting conditions. Three separate VC modes are also available to suit various styles of shooting: Mode 1 is a balanced setting for general use, and promotes both a stabilized viewfinder image and stabilized results; Mode 2 is designed exclusively for panning movements; and Mode 3 is optimized to stabilize only during capture without stabilizing the view
A FLEX ZOOM LOCK mechanism enables you to lock the zoom at any position in order to prevent unwanted zoom extension during use. A conventional zoom lock switch is also featured, which locks the zoom in place at the 150mm position to prevent zoom extension during transportation.

- A reduced Minimum Object Distance (MOD) of 7 feet (1:3.9 max. mag. ratio) enhances tele-macro photography capabilities.
- The included bundle adds practical accessories like a padded backpack, UV filter, and cleaning kit for immediate use.
👎 Cons
- The ultra-telephoto zoom range from 150-600mm makes it a specialized lens, less suited for general-purpose or wide-angle photography.
- Its size and weight, inherent to ultra-telephoto lenses, could make it challenging for prolonged handheld shooting without support.
- While offering three VC modes, understanding and utilizing them effectively for different shooting situations requires user familiarity.
- The f/5-6.3 variable aperture means it will perform less optimally in very low light conditions compared to a constant, wider aperture lens.
- The lens is designed for Nikon mounts, limiting its direct compatibility to Nikon camera systems only.
