The Tilta Mirage Motorized VND Wireless Filter Kit (MB-T16-B) reimagines the traditional matte box for the modern filmmaker. Rather than relying on bulky rod-mounted systems, the Mirage uses a 95mm clamp-on backing that attaches directly to cinema lenses like ARRI Ultra Primes and Leica Summicron-C optics, while adapter rings for 82mm, 77mm, 72mm, and 67mm threads open compatibility to the full spectrum of DSLR and mirrorless lenses. The cartridge-style filter slot accepts both compact 95mm circular filters — which weigh roughly one-quarter of a traditional 4x5.65 glass filter — and full-size 4x5.65 rectangular filters, giving you the freedom to choose based on your production requirements and weight constraints.

The motorized variable ND module is the centerpiece of this kit, developed in collaboration with top-tier optical manufacturers to ensure consistent color neutrality across the ND range. The VND motor can be operated through the included wireless controller or integrated into Tilta's Nucleus series wireless follow focus systems, enabling a single operator to adjust exposure remotely while shooting handheld, on a gimbal, or from a drone. The entire system is engineered with modularity in mind — you can strip it down to just the matte box and a circular filter for the lightest possible configuration, or build it up with motorized VND and additional filter stages for full cinema production.
