The Universal Audio Apollo Twin X DUO Heritage Edition is a desktop Thunderbolt audio interface designed for professional recording and mixing. At its core are elite-class analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters derived from UA's Apollo X rackmount series, paired with two Unison-enabled mic preamps that physically reconfigure their impedance and gain staging to model classic hardware preamps and guitar amplifiers. The DUO Core onboard DSP handles UAD plug-in processing independently of your computer's CPU, enabling near-zero latency tracking through vintage compressors, EQs, tape machines, and amp simulators — a workflow advantage that eliminates the need for latency compensation while recording.

The Heritage Edition distinguishes itself with a premium plug-in package that includes five award-winning titles from Teletronix, Pultec, and UA alongside the Realtime Analog Classics bundle, totaling over $1,300 in included software. The interface features a front-panel Hi-Z instrument input, headphone output, built-in talkback microphone, and dedicated monitor controls including Mono, Mute, DIM, and ALT speaker switching.
