The Yamaha MODX6+ is a 61-key synthesizer workstation that brings together two of Yamaha's most capable sound engines — AWM2 and FM-X — in a design built for working musicians. AWM2 is Yamaha's proprietary sample-based subtractive synthesis technology, delivering faithful reproductions of acoustic pianos, strings, brass, and other traditional instruments. FM-X takes a fundamentally different approach with 8-operator frequency modulation synthesis, capable of producing complex harmonic textures, electric pianos, pads, and aggressive leads that sample-based engines cannot replicate on their own. Having both engines available simultaneously gives the MODX6+ a sound palette that spans classic and contemporary territory.
