Zoom EXH6 Dual XLR/TRS Input Capsule for H5, H6, F1, F8

The Zoom EXH-6 is an interchangeable input capsule that snaps onto compatible Zoom recorders — including the H5, H6, U-44, F1, F4, F8n, and F8 — to provide two additional professional-grade audio inputs. Each input uses an XLR/TRS combo jack, accepting standard XLR microphone cables, balanced 1/4-inch TRS connections, or unbalanced 1/4-inch TS instrument cables. This flexibility makes it straightforward to connect a second pair of microphones, a direct instrument feed, or line-level outputs from a mixer without carrying separate adapters or breakout boxes.

Each input on the EXH-6 features its own analog gain control knob, so you can dial in levels independently right on the capsule rather than navigating menus on the recorder. The -20dB pad switch on each channel is a valuable addition for recording high-SPL sources like guitar amps, brass instruments, or loud presenters — engaging the pad prevents the input stage from clipping before the signal ever reaches the recorder's processing. The built-in instrumentation amplifier is designed to reject interference and maintain a clean signal over long cable runs, which is particularly useful in live event, field recording, and interview scenarios where cable lengths can be unpredictable. The capsule draws its power directly from the host recorder, so there are no batteries to manage or external power supplies to carry.
