Frequently Asked Questions
Is 800 joules of surge protection enough for a desktop computer or TV setup?
For a typical home electronics setup — a desktop PC, monitor, router, and a few peripherals — 800 joules provides solid baseline protection against the voltage spikes that come from utility fluctuations and nearby lightning. It's not industrial-grade protection, but it's a meaningful step above an unprotected power strip and appropriate for most home and office use.
What is the benefit of a flat plug versus a standard angled or straight plug?
The flat plug sits flush against the wall outlet, which means the strip doesn't stick out awkwardly from behind a desk or sofa. In tight spaces — behind entertainment centers, under desks, or beside counters — this small design detail makes the difference between a clean installation and a cord that catches on furniture or blocks adjacent outlets.
How do the twist-to-close safety outlets work?
Each unused outlet has a rotating cover that requires a deliberate twist to open — it won't pop open from a bump or when a child pushes against it. This is a practical safety feature for homes with young children or in workshop and garage environments where tools or debris might otherwise contact open outlets.
Can this be mounted on a wall, desk, or counter?
Yes — integrated keyhole slots on the unit allow you to mount it to a flat surface using standard screws. This is particularly useful in garages, workshops, and under-desk setups where keeping the strip off the floor reduces cord clutter and keeps it away from moisture.
Does the automatic shutdown feature reset itself after tripping?
The integrated circuit breaker and automatic shutdown will cut power if the strip experiences overvoltage or overheating. You can reset it once the fault condition is cleared — it's not a one-time fuse. The protected indicator light will confirm when the unit is operating normally.
