Overview

The Marantz UD8004 Universal Disc Player represents the pinnacle of physical media playback, built for enthusiasts who demand reference-quality audio and video from their disc collections. At its core, the UD8004 features 192kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converters across all channels, ensuring that high-resolution audio formats like SA-CD and DVD-Audio are reproduced with remarkable fidelity. The Anchor Bay VRS video processing engine, paired with a 297MHz/12-bit Analog Devices video DAC, handles upscaling and deinterlacing duties to deliver a polished picture from both standard-definition and high-definition sources.

Format support is comprehensive — the UD8004 handles virtually every optical disc format available, from Blu-ray and DVD in all their recordable variants to CD-R/RW and SA-CD. It also supports file-based playback of MP3, WMA, DivX 6, AVCHD, and JPEG content, with an SD card slot providing an additional input path. BD Profile 2.0 compliance enables BD Live interactive features for compatible Blu-ray titles. With component, S-Video, composite, optical, and coaxial outputs, plus RS-232C for integration into custom home theater control systems, the UD8004 is designed to serve as the centerpiece of a serious home cinema setup.
