Overview
Key Features
Sound Quality: Life is too short for speakers that don't sound great! We believe that the whole point of listening to music is to hear it as the artist intended. Our engineers and audio experts have spent countless hours listening to and comparing various speakers until we were satisfied we had found models that fit our demanding standards.
Style: While Monoprice believes in function over form, there is nothing wrong with having speakers that look good, too. This in-wall speaker helps reduce clutter by getting your speakers off the floor or bookshelves. The magnetic metal grille can be painted to match your ceiling, so it virtually disappears from view.
Simplicity: Installation is as easy as it can get. Use the included cutout template to mark your wall, make the cut then, using only a screwdriver, secure the speaker to the wall with the easy install mounting tabs.
Carbon fiber woofers are lighter and stiffer than conventional materials used in speaker manufacturing. The speaker cone is more sensitive to power, which means that you get more volume using less power. Additionally, the stiffer material means deeper bass and higher power handling, with significantly less distortion.

Pros & Cons
👍 Pros
- 8-inch carbon fiber woofer produces deep, controlled bass down to 45Hz without a subwoofer for many listening scenarios
- 3-way design with dedicated midrange driver ensures clear vocal reproduction and detailed sound across the frequency range
- Paintable magnetic grilles allow completely invisible installation that blends with any interior
- Built-in high frequency attenuator provides room-specific tuning without needing an external equalizer
- Sold as a pair, reducing cost compared to buying individual in-wall speakers
👎 Cons
- In-wall installation requires cutting into drywall, making placement permanent and not easily repositioned
- No built-in mounting hardware for retrofit ceiling installation, strictly wall-mount design
- 200 watts maximum input power may be limiting for very large rooms or high-output home theater setups
- 8-ohm impedance means they cannot be easily daisy-chained in parallel on most standard amplifiers
- Bass response starting at 45Hz may still benefit from a subwoofer for home theater low-frequency effects
