Philips AZ1836/37 CD Soundmachine with MP3 Recording

The Philips AZ1836/37 CD Soundmachine is a portable audio system that bridges physical media and digital convenience. Its headline feature is one-touch MP3 digital recording, which lets you convert tracks from your audio CDs into MP3 files saved directly to a connected USB device — no computer required. This makes it a practical tool for anyone looking to digitize a CD collection or create portable MP3 copies of their favorite albums. Beyond ripping, it plays standard audio CDs as well as discs burned with MP3 and WMA files, extending the life of your existing disc library.

The built-in USB port adds further flexibility, allowing direct playback of MP3 and WMA files from flash drives. An FM/MW radio tuner rounds out the audio sources, providing access to local broadcasts for news, music, and talk programming. The included remote control is a welcome convenience for a device likely to sit on a shelf or countertop. As a compact boombox-style unit, the AZ1836/37 is best suited for casual listening in kitchens, bedrooms, workshops, or anywhere you want simple, no-fuss audio without the complexity of app-based streaming systems.
