Sony BDP-S560 Blu-ray Disc Player 1080p Wireless

The Sony BDP-S560 is a full-featured Blu-ray disc player that delivers 1080p high-definition video from Blu-ray discs and upconverts standard DVDs to near-HD quality over HDMI. Its built-in 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi was a notable convenience at launch, letting users access BD-Live bonus content and stream photos from networked PCs without running an Ethernet cable across the room. For home theater enthusiasts, support for both Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio codecs means the player can pass lossless surround sound to a compatible AV receiver, while 24p True Cinema output preserves the original cinematic frame rate of film-based content.

Connectivity is unusually thorough for a consumer Blu-ray player. Beyond its HDMI port, the BDP-S560 includes component, S-Video, composite, analog stereo, optical digital, coaxial digital, and Ethernet outputs, making it compatible with everything from modern home theater receivers to older CRT televisions. The compact 16.9 × 8.1 × 2.8-inch chassis fits neatly into most AV cabinets, and it ships with a remote control and composite AV cable to get started right out of the box.
