PreSonus StudioLive 32R Series III Digital Rack Mixer

The PreSonus StudioLive 32R Series III is a rack-mountable 32-channel digital mixer that doubles as an AVB-networked stage box for StudioLive Series III consoles. In standalone mode, it provides full mixing capability with 34 total inputs — 32 locking combo mic/line channels equipped with recallable XMAX Class A preamps, plus stereo auxiliary inputs. Every channel features Fat Channel processing with EQ, compression, limiting, and gate, including vintage EQ and compressor emulations with A/B comparison. The 16 FlexMixes offer exceptional routing flexibility, with each bus independently assignable as an auxiliary send, subgroup, or matrix mix, supplemented by 4 dedicated subgroups and 4 internal effects buses loaded with reverb and delay options.

For recording, the StudioLive 32R integrates a 40x40 USB 2.0 audio interface for direct multitrack recording to a computer, alongside a 55x55 AVB interface for networked recording setups. Onboard stereo recording to SD card provides a convenient backup capture option. The unit ships with a complete software package: UC Surface for wireless mixing control from Mac, Windows, iPad, or Android; Capture for streamlined live multitrack recording; and Studio One Artist DAW for post-production. Scene management with Scene Safe functionality allows engineers to recall full mixer states while protecting selected channels from changes — a critical feature for consistent live sound across multiple shows or events.
