Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch 256GB WiFi Space Gray (Renewed)

The 1st-generation iPad Pro 12.9" was Apple's original large-format tablet, built around the A9X chip with M9 coprocessor — a dual-core processor that delivered what Apple described as laptop-class performance at its 2015 launch. The 2732x2048 Retina display remains one of this device's strongest assets: at 264 PPI with P3 wide color gamut, it renders text, photography, and illustration work with excellent clarity across its 12.9-inch panel. The 256GB storage configuration provides solid local capacity for productivity files, offline media, and creative projects. Four speakers deliver surprisingly rich stereo output for a tablet, making it a genuinely good media consumption device.

In 2026, this iPad Pro occupies a specific niche: a large, high-resolution tablet at a significantly reduced price point, best suited for users whose needs center on reading, annotation, video playback, and light creative work rather than cutting-edge app compatibility. The Lightning port and USB 2.0 transfer speeds are the most tangible daily limitation, and the iPadOS 16 ceiling means the software ecosystem will gradually move beyond what this hardware can run. For buyers who need an affordable 12.9-inch display for reference material, PDF markup, or a dedicated media screen, the renewed 1st-gen Pro delivers meaningful value — but it is a device to buy with clear eyes about its remaining software lifespan.
