Overview

The Canon PFI-1000 Red ink tank is one of twelve individual cartridges in Canon's LUCIA PRO ink system, designed exclusively for the imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 wide-format photo printer. Where standard four- or six-color ink sets often approximate reds by mixing magenta and yellow, this dedicated red channel reproduces warm hues with noticeably greater accuracy and saturation. The result is more faithful rendering of skin tones, floral subjects, sunset scenes, and any image where red-spectrum fidelity matters.

Built on Canon's LUCIA PRO pigment technology, the ink offers excellent lightfastness and resistance to environmental degradation, making it well-suited for gallery prints and archival work. The 80ml tank provides a meaningful volume of ink, helping offset the cost-per-print during batch printing sessions. Because it's a single-color tank, you replace only the red when it runs out, avoiding the waste inherent in multi-color combo cartridges. For professional photographers and printmakers who demand precise color reproduction across the full visible spectrum, the PFI-1000 Red is an essential part of a complete ink set.
