The Dell 540-BBDR is a dual-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet server adapter built on Intel's X520 controller, one of the most widely deployed 10GbE chipsets in data center and enterprise networking. Each of its two SFP+ ports supports 10Gbps throughput over optical fiber or direct-attach copper cables, enabling high-speed server-to-switch, server-to-storage, or server-to-server connectivity. The dual-port configuration allows administrators to implement link aggregation for increased bandwidth, active-passive failover for redundancy, or simply connect to two separate network segments.
